Sister Gertrude Bonneville

Bonneville, Gertrude: 1937–2020. Sister Gertrude Bonneville died peacefully at the Convent of Notre Dame in Ponteix, SK. on September 3rd 2020. She was predeceased by her parents Mrs. Eva (Rainville) and Mr. Léo Bonneville; her brother, Maurice Bonneville and sisters: Laurette Gadbois, Lucienne Lidgett, Irène Bonneville, Liliane Kostick, Agnès Fraser, Marguerite Kosheiff, Rose-Marie Escaiw and Lorraine Bernier. She is lovingly remembered by her sister Béatrice and husband Wilfred Leduc  and her two brothers Richard and wife Lis and Laurent and his wife Anne, her nieces and nephews whom she cherished. Also all the Sisters of Notre Dame d'Auvergne with whom she lived for 66 years. Sr. Gertrude entered the Novitiate of the Sisters of Notre Dame d'Auvergne in 1954 and made her vows in 1957. Sr. Gertrude was born in Ponteix, SK. and received her Education at the Notre Dame Convent and at Ponteix School. She went to Regina for her nursing degree and practiced nursing in Val Marie, at Ponteix Gabriel hospital, Zenon Park Hospital and as Matron at Ponteix Union Hospital and finally at Foyer St. Joseph before she retired in 1977 in Ponteix. After retirement, she rendered services in the Gabriel Residence and the Convent. Gertrude was frail of health. In her leisure time she did some knitting and crocheting. This was appreciated as gifts to many. She will be missed by the Sisters of Notre Dame d'Auvergne and her family. Funeral mass was held at Notre Dame d'Auvergne Church in Ponteix on Monday, September 7th 2020.
