Marjorie Thibault ( Cornelson)

Marj was born March 2, 1937 – the only child of John & Lizzie McBlain.  Her early years were spent in the Pinto River & Aneroid district.

She met the love of her life Armand Thibault and they married Dec 1, 1956.  They moved to the farm in Aneroid in 1963.  They welcomed 4 children – Paul, Jeanne, John and Mary-Ann.

These children supplied them with 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren!

Through the years Marj worked at the Royal Bank, Douville Farm Equipment, Switzer Auction, and secretary at the Village of Aneroid.  She was also active in the community with the Aneroid History Book and supporting her kids many activities.

The family farm hosted many gatherings of family & friends – the coffee pot was always on & Marj’s baking & cooking was enjoyed by all.  She was an avid sewer & quilter and most that knew her have been gifted a quilt “Made by Marj.”

Armand passed in 2001 and Marj. moved to Swift Current.  She met Herman Cornelson and they married Aug 27, 2005.  They enjoyed spending their twilight years together Herman passed in 2017 and Marj, sold her house & moved first to an apartment and then The Bentley where she enjoyed meeting many new friends.  Marj was predeceased by her parents John and Lizzie McBlain; husband Armand Thibault and husband Herman Cornelson.  Marj is survived by her children: Paul (Sarah) Thibault, Jeanne (Brad) Halstead, John Delia) Thibault, and Mary-Ann Thibault; 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; stepsons: Mark (Barb) Cornelson, Allan (Marcia) Cornelson, and their families; daughter in law Julie (Al) Koenig; and numerous brothers and sisters in law, cousins, nieces & nephews.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 21st, 2023 at 1:00 PM at The Aneroid Community Hall with Pastor Rod Nikkel officiating.  Paul Thibault was the eulogist, and Arron Gordon, Kevin Gillespie, Jaret Girodat, Gerald Eirich, Shawn Schafer, and Travis Schafer served as pallbearers.  Memorial donations can be made to The MS Society of Canada - 150 Albert Street, Regina, SK, S4R 2N2, and the Canadian Cancer Society - 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK, S4P 2R3.
