Lorne Everett Broley, 77, died peacefully at The Foyer St. Joseph Nursing Home in Ponteix, SK on January 24, 2021. He was born in Ponteix on August 1, 1943 to Howard and Mary Broley and attended Westerleigh School. He went on to be employed at a welding shop in BC, Carignan Motors and various farm jobs until he went to work for his son-in-law, Clint, operating heavy equipment. His heart always remained at the farm. On February 22, 1975, Lorne married Karen Knox in Ponteix. They raised three daughters - Tracy, Kim and Crystal on the farm and remained there until the Fall of 2019. Dad was a jack of all trades and spent endless hours in the shop fixing vehicles for family and friends. He could create random things out of anything and was always experimenting to find a fix for everything.
He was a member of the Glenvern Hall Board and enjoyed stock cars, curling, bowling, snowmobiling, dances at the Glenvern Hall, auction sales and his fancy cars in his younger years. He loved attending his daughters' activities and later watching his grandchildren participate in theirs. He had a love for KFC, Coke, ketchup, chocolate and rink burgers. He is predeceased by his parents - Howard and Mary, brother - Allan, nephew - Trevor and father-in-law - Eldon. He is survived by his wife of 45 years - Karen, daughters - Tracy (Calvin) Colby and Kira, Kim (John) Matthew and Samantha, Crystal (Clint) Carter and Surrey. Mother-in-law - Sylvia Knox, brother and sisters-in-law - Arlene (Gerry) Joly, Craig (Lori) Knox, Laurel (Dave) Nodeland, Claire Broley along with numerous nieces and nephews. At Dad's request, no funeral will be held. Donations in Lorne's memory would be greatly appreciated going to the Foyer St. Joseph Nursing Home P.O. Box 450 Ponteix, SK S0N 1Z0 where Dad had the BEST care. We love you Dad. We will miss you and your smile forever. Lemieux Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
