The family of Joyce Roberta Desharnais, age 85, of Ponteix, are saddened to announce her passing on January 5, 2023, at the Foyer St. Joseph Nursing Home in Ponteix, Saskatchewan.  As per her wishes, there will be no funeral.  The family will gather at a later date to lay her to her final rest.  Joyce was born on June 26, 1937 in Rosetown, Saskatchewan.  On April 19, 1958, she married Martial Desharnais.  She was so proud to share that they celebrated 64 years of marriage.  Together, they raised six children on the family farm at Ponteix.  Mom spent endless hours gardening, baking and caring for her family.  After raising their children, she and Dad enjoyed many years camping throughout the entire province of Saskatchewan.  In later years, Joyce cherished special times playing cards and having tea with friends and family, which always included lots of laughter.  Her special joy was gifting each of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren a handmade crocheted blanket, made with love.  Nothing was more important to her than family.  
Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Martial, six children: David (Lorrie), Louise (Jeff), Ann (Paul), Allan (Mel), Susan, Terry (Dave); 19 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren; her sister Janet and brother Robert.  Joyce was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Josephine Paton.  Her family would like to thank the Foyer St. Joseph Nursing Home in Ponteix for the loving care she received during her last 4 months.  She will be greatly missed by family and friends.  Donations in memory of Joyce may be directed to Foyer St. Joseph in Ponteix.  Lemieux's Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
