After a courageous battle with cancer, Louis passed away peacefully, with his sister by his side holding his hand. He died on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at the Foyer St. Joseph Nursing Home in Ponteix, SK. He was predeceased by his parents Ernest and Marie Rose (Lemay) Beliveau; brothers Paul and Rosaire; two brothers-in-law; and one sister-in-law. Louis is survived by his children: sons Marc and Robbie of Calgary, AB, and Dean (Kym) from Australia; and daughter Kelly from Nanaimo, BC; his grandchildren Jarren, Tasman and Hope; his five sisters Sister Marie-Paule Beliveau of Ponteix, SK, Claire Fradette of Calgary, AB, Rose (Gerard) Fourny of Ponteix, SK, Lynn Beliveau of Parksville, BC, and Celina (Barry) Watson of Swift Current, SK; sister-in-law Vi Beliveau of Nanaimo, BC; as well as serveral nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Louis was born on January 18, 1939 and his first years of school were at the Convent in Ponteix. The family moved to Moose Jaw, SK in 1950 where he continued his schooling at St. Agnes and St. Mary's Schools and then St. Louis College. He worked in Moose Jaw and Regina before moving to Nanaimo in 1969 where he resided until 2013. Louis worked for Evergreen Motors for many years, and was a technician for RV's. He loved his sports, coaching hockey and playing golf with his buddies. He sang in the church choir as he was blessed with a beautiful voice. Due to illness, he moved back to his roots in Ponteix, first in the Bridges Personal Care Home, then moved to the Foyer where he received excellent care. Three to four times a day one of the staff would wheel him outside for his "smoke" which he enjoyed. Louis was a friend to all who knew him and he will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Rest in peace Louis, your pain is over, and ours in just beginning.
