Jeanne was born on June 23, 1929 in Ponteix and was raised on her parent's homestead farm near Frenchville, Sk. helping with the family's farm and helping her parents raise a large devout Catholic family. She attended elementary school at Epinard School in Frenchville and then high school at Convent school in Val Marie. Jeanne also help to teach in small country school house. She married Albert Begin on July 31, 1956 in Frenchville and helped him with their family homestead near Aneroid, Sk. When the newer home was moved in, she made this house a wonderful and beautiful home with tireless work planting many trees, shrubs, fruit trees and spectacular flowers everywhere. She established a shrine to Mother Mary by creating a beautiful rock garden filled with ornamental trees and perennials that always thrived and bloomed beautifully. Her vegetable gardens were a yearly passion for her and it was always extremely bountiful and she always shared it with her family and friends. Jeanne always graciously welcomed guests and her meals were always deliciously memorable. Her tourtieres and special family dishes called "Six part" were always a family favorite. When she moved from the family farm to her home in Ponteix in later years, she transformed it into another beautiful home filled with huge gardens filled with food to feed all and flowers that bloomed all summer long. Her home was always filled with love and laughter. Family and friends were always welcomed with loving arms. Whenever anyone was in need, whether it was family or friends and also complete strangers, Jeanne did all she could to help them quietly and without any expectation of acknowledgement. She always had a kind and compassionate way about her that always inspired people to become a better version of themselves. Her strong faith in God kept her strong and she always saw the good in people. In her spare time Jeanne enjoyed gardening, reading, crocheting, sewing, knitting and painting. She was also a very active member of Federation des Femmes Canadiennes Francaise, CWL, and the Catholic Church with prayer groups, liturgy lists and volunteer work. Jeanne helped many people in their homes, driving older folk around and visiting residents of the Foyer. In July of 2019, due to ill health, she moved to The Meadows in Swift Current, so she could receive the special palliative care she required. She spent one year and one day there. At first she had a hard time accepting help because she is a giver, not a taker. The residents and staff there became her new extended family. To quote an LPN there, "to know her is to love her." We will be forever gratefully to the staff of House 21. Jeanne will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her family and friends. In her memory, memorial donation may be made to the Foyer St. Joseph Nursing Home, 128 2nd Ave, Ponteix, Sk. S0N 1Z0. Lemieux Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
