Harold Ulm

Ulm, Harold Frank, age 73 of Aneroid, passed away December 1, 2021 at Ponteix. The memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m. on December 6, 2021 from the Aneroid Cemetery with Laura Balas officiating. The honorary pallbearers were all those who shared in Harold’s life. Harold is survived by his mother, Hope Ulm (103 years old), wife, Lucille, sons Tim (Bobbie Jo) Ulm and Curtis Ulm (Janice), grandchildren, Hannah, Paige and Ajay Ulm, nieces and nephews, and sisters-in-law. Harold was predeceased by his father, Frank Ulm in 2007, and brothers, Calvin, Dwayne, Craig and Brian. Harold was born in Ponteix, SK on February 9, 1948. He attended school at Pinto School, Aneroid and Kincaid. Harold married Lucille Boutaud on October 20, 1973 at Aneroid, SK. They lived in Calgary for two years. Harold worked at RM #76 the summer he was out of school, then worked for Northern and Profile Seismic in Alberta for approximately the next 20 years, and also in that time started farming in Aneroid in 1975. Harold was a member of the Aneroid 4-H Club, the Elks, was on the Aneroid Town Council and the Aneroid Rink Board. Harold also played hockey with the Aneroid Aces, took care of the ice at the Aneroid rink, drove the Zambonie, and hunted deer, elk and moose with family and friends. Harold went to work in the winter months after farming was done. That ended when he got into raising cattle and moved onto the family farm. He received the 100 year Century Award in 2009 together with his mom, Hope. Donations in memory of Harold may be made to the Foyer St. Joseph Nursing Home, P.O. Box 450, Ponteix SK S0N 1Z0.
