Casper Laturnus Obituary

LATURNUS: Casper Joseph age 89 of Val Marie, SK passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Foyer St. Joseph in Ponteix, SK. Casper was born in Rosefield, SK on April 14, 1930, and attended school at Stoney Trail. He married Theresa Jeanson, the love of his life, on July 26, 1969. Throughout his life he worked on numerous people's farms until he bought his own land to farm in Masefield, SK. Casper enjoyed collecting many "treasures" over the years; he also liked to do wood work and play his harmonica for everyone. He very much enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, including his daily coffee at the Wal Mart McDonald's. Casper always took a nightly drive around Val Marie making sure the village was all tucked in before he went to bed. He had the type of personality that could make anyone smile until you made him mad, then look out! Casper loved spending as much time as possible with his family, and Tucker Myles' "little white dog" as he would say! One more thing he enjoyed doing is donating to everyone's lotto winnings each week. He got much enjoyment out of buying scratch tickets and let people scratch them for him. We're all going to miss Casper immensely, but we're glad he gets to see the love of his life again. Casper is survived by children: Myles (Yvette) Laturnus, Melody Laturnus, Connie (Gerry) Ewachow; grandchildren: Taylor (Cheyanne) Laturnus, Nicole (Nate) Laturnus, Malory (Travis) Neyedly, Rochelle Neyedly, Brandyn Neyedly, Jacob Ewachow, Carson Ewachow; great-grandchildren Huntyr, Danyka, Ryder, Marshall, Hailey, and baby dill (soon to be great grandchild); sisters: Lorraine, Rose, Leona, Eleanor, Helen, Hilda; brothers in law Claude, Denis, Paul, Luc Jeanson, Roger Jeanson, Rollie Facette, Ernest Pinel; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by wife Theresa Laturnus; parents John and Magdelina; mother and father in law Lionel and Florilda Jeanson; brothers Elmer, Alex, George; sisters Regina, Lillian; sister in law Gisele Jeanson; brothers in law: Arnie Fink, Ralph Asplund, Louis Beauchamp, Leo Niedermayer, John Laturnus, George Lazurka.
