Angela Chenard Obituary

Angela Joan Chenard
27 December 1965 - 2 January 2023
On January 2, 2023 our beloved Angie was suddenly taken from us at the age of 57.  Angela Joan Chenard was born on December 27, 1965, in Rimbey, Alberta to parents Edward and Penelope Cumberland.  She was raised as a rural Albertan and loved all things country, ranchy, and western.  She was an avid animal lover with a passion for horses, dogs, and anything stray.  It was this very passion that led her heart to a Saskatchewan boy whom she married and moved to the prairies with.  Angie and Roland met at a young age and have spent their entire lives together as friends, parents, and partners.  Angie and Roland began their new life together owning and operating Chenard Grocery in Cadillac.  For ten years Angie ran the grocery store while also running after their two young children.  In 1991 they moved their young family from the town of Cadillac onto Roland's family farm which they made into their permanent home.  Angie enjoyed her life as a farmer's wife, finding satisfaction in caring for various livestock, growing lush gardens, and keeping those in the field fed.  Angie and Roland raised four children together and motherhood was Angie's greatest joy.  Angie was first and foremost a dedicated mother, taking more pride in her children's accomplishments than her own.  She treasured her children and relished every opportunity she had when all the kids came together.  Angie would say her greatest blessing was having all her grown children remain close to home.  This meant that family get-togethers were never limited to special occasions.  Invites were never required, and heads up never given, drop ins were always welcome.  Especially when those drop ins included grandchildren.  Angie's life had always revolved around children, but grandchildren took it to a new level.  She would make or break plans in an instant for an afternoon with her grandchildren.  In four short years she was blessed with five grandchildren, she happily embraced the chaos, mess, and disarray that five young children can release on a grateful grandma.  Angie selflessly ensured that everyone was always taken care of.  She never limited her love to only her family, her tenderness reached anyone in need.  Her front door was always open, neighbors frequently dropped in for coffee throughout the years.  She kept in touch with family and friends, even reconnecting with old ones, as years passed.  This gave Angie an innate ability to recall family and community history flawlessly, she never faltered.  Angie is predeceased by her dear father Ted and her grandparents.  She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Roland; her children: Kaylee (Brent) Pinel, Darcy (Lacy) Chenard, Dallas (Lisa) Chenard, and Kaitlyn Chenard; her mother Penny; her grandchildren: Austin, Kiptyn, Jaycee, Kameron, and Emery; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends, and neighbours who will all sorrowfully miss her warm smile, gentle nature, and kind heart.  Angie's presence is irreplaceable, but she leaves us with our hearts and minds filled with precious memories that we will continue to carry with us.  A Celebration of Life Service was held at the Cadillac Community Hall on Saturday, January 21, 2023.  Thank you to all the community support that has been given to our family throughout this time.  Lemieux's Funeral Home in care of arrangements.  For further information please call 306-625-3925, or visit our website at www.lemieuxfuneralhome.com and express your sympathy to the family on our tribute wall.
