Marie Aline Savignac (Nee: Gagnon) of Ponteix, Sk. passed away November 14, 2019 at the Foyers St Joseph Nursing Home in Ponteix. She was born November 17, 1926 to Clovis and Leonne Gagnon (Nee; DeChamplain). Aline was predeceased by her loving parents, husband Paul Savignac and her brothers and sisters, whom she loved dearly. She is survived by her brothers Georges and Lucien Gagnon and many nieces and nephews across Canada. Aline lived a very full life. She obtained a diploma from the University of Saskatchewan in Hospital Administration. From there she worked in Ponteix, Val Marie and Zenon Park, Sk. In Edmonton, Aline worked in Intensive Care and Nursing Administration. She then worked for the Provencal Government in Personnel Administration and Occupationally Health and Safety. After she was married, Aline worked for four surgeons. She would work evenings for Chapman Brothers selling blue jeans, cowboy boots and saddles. Aline and Paul were not blessed with children, but were always ready to babysit for families on weekends. For many years they contributed to charitable organization that focused on the health and wellbeing of children. After her husband Paul passed away, Aline became the contact person for residents in the Nursing Home whose families lived out of the province. Having lost her parents at a young age, she was passionate about working with the elderly. From 1999 to 2019, she lived in Saskatchewan spending her time with her brothers that lived there; with a number of years between spent in B.C. and Alberts. She was involved with the Senior's Association, the Royal Canadian Legion and the Catholic Woman League. She helped seniors with their groceries, and families with funerals, wills and support. She was generous and helped anyone in need. The memorial mass service was held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 11:00 am from Notre Dame d'Auvergne Roman Catholic Church with Father Guy Amedee Ainemon officiating. A Life Tribute was presented by Mike Gagnon. The Cross bearer was Seth Gagnon. The Urn Bearers were Lesley Morrison, Mike Gagnon and Lucien Gagnon. The Interment Service will take place at a later date. Aline will be greatly missed by her brothers and many nieces and nephews.
